Patric Young, a former Florida basketball player, is recovering from a serious rollover crash that happened on June 29.

Young, who starred with the Gators and is now an SEC Network analyst, gave an update in a Twitter video on his health status following the one-vehicle accident in Nebraska:

“Exactly two weeks since my accident. First milestone of many to come, in great spirits. Thank you everybody, so much for your thoughts and prayers,” Young said. “I’m about to ring this bell to close one chapter. Can’t wait for the next one. We’re heading up to Colorado really soon.”

In a wheelchair, Young wheeled himself around the hospital and rang a bell, which signified his road to recovery in the South Dakota hospital. The hospital applauded Young for his accomplishment. Young left the hospital and he will continue his recovery process in Denver.

The scary accident happened in Knox County, Nebraska, and he was transported to Sioux Falls.

The recovery process will be a daunting one for Young, but he posted about how he is dealing with the mental aspect of the injury. He decided to come up with a mantra to get him through the ups and downs of rehabilitating his body.

Young played at Florida from 2010 to 2014 and averaged 8.7 points per game in four years.
