Former Alabama WR DeAndrew White was released by the New England Patriots, the team announced Thursday night.

The Patriots signed talented LB David Harris, who was released by the Jets, and they cut White to make room for Harris on the roster. White signed with the Patriots last month, and he spent last season on their practice roster.

White originally signed with the 49ers as a free agent following the 2015 NFL Draft, but he was released from the organization on September 3, 2016. He was signed to the Patriots’ practice squad 11 days later. White caught just two passes for 18 yards, returned six kickoffs and one punt with the 49ers during his rookie season with the 49ers.

White totaled 94 catches for 1,294 yards and 12 touchdowns during his Alabama career from 2011-2014.
