Paul Finebaum explains why Notre Dame, not Texas A&M, deserves fourth Playoff spot

Texas A&M fans, coaches and players will be waiting anxiously for the final College Football Playoff rankings to be announced today.
Did the Aggies’ convincing win at Tennessee on Saturday do enough in the eyes of the CFP selection committee to vault them over Ohio State or Notre Dame and into the field of 4 teams?
On Sunday morning’s SportsCenter, SEC Network host Paul Finebaum said he thinks Notre Dame will get the No. 4 spot over A&M (via 247Sports):
“It’s not a compelling case but you also have to look at it and say does Texas A&M have an unequivocal shot or case to be the No. 4 team and I think that’s where it gets problematic for the Aggies,” Finebaum said. “You can’t put all the stock on that 28 pint loss to Alabama but you also have to look at what’s happened since then. They’ve been very consistent. But they beat Tennessee yesterday, which is a very pedestrian team at 3-7. Notre Dame was playing with two or three of the best teams in the country. Ultimately, I think the committee is going to look at Notre Dame’s win at Clemson and that’s going to be the difference maker.”
Will the committee side with Finebaum? The final rankings will be released at noon ET.
