Paul Finebaum on Iron Bowl for Alabama: ‘Everything that could be wrong has gone wrong’

Paul Finebaum isn’t ready to go all in on Alabama against Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
Despite Alabama having no trouble at all with Chattanooga on Saturday, and Auburn falling to New Mexico State, Finebaum thinks that a few factors may be working against the Crimson Tide.
“For Alabama, everything that could go wrong did,” Finebaum told Matt Barrie on Sunday. “They won big, they had a banner day. Their fans are already looking ahead to Georgia. They’ll hear the ‘throw out the record books’ and ‘all the great Iron Bowls…’ but [for] Nick Saban, Jordan-Hare Stadium has been his Waterloo.”
While Alabama has taken the last 3 meetings between the 2 teams, Auburn has won 2 of the last 3 times the game has been played at Jordan-Hare Stadium. In 2022, Alabama needed 4 overtimes to slip past Auburn 24-22.
What will this edition of the Iron Bowl hold? Kickoff from the Plains is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
