Paul Finebaum shared his thoughts on Alabama’s 24-10 victory vs. Ole Miss during his Monday appearance on McElroy And Cubelic in the Morning.

Alabama responded from a lethargic victory vs. South Florida with a solid victory vs. its SEC West rivals. Alabama limited Ole Miss to 56 yards on the ground and 3-for-14 on 3rd down attempts.

Finebaum praised the performance by a Crimson Tide squad which made some strides in areas of concern.

“It was a necessary and significant win for Alabama. They finally cleaned up a couple of things that had been gnawing at them,” Finebaum said. “..The defense was really incredibly impressive, especially in the 2nd half. I thought Milroe survived some very anxious moments. The line seemed to protect him a little bit more. His decision making was better.”

With the media relentlessly questioning Alabama heading into the matchup, Finebaum believes the victory quiets down the noise for now.

“Overall, I thought it was a game changer in terms of changing the narrative. We all know how fatal a loss would’ve been. It’s hard to calculate the upside on this club,” Finebaum said. “I think it’s probably significantly higher than a week ago only because they dodged this incredibly bad moment.”

Next up for Alabama is a road matchup at Mississippi State on Sept. 30 at 9 p.m. EST (ESPN).
