As No. 4, Georgia would be in the College Football Playoff if the season ended today, but the national media seems more interested in talking about the three undefeated teams (LSU, Ohio State, Clemson) and whether Alabama or the Pac-12 champion will be the fourth team in.

UGA’s road to the national championship is the most difficult as it involves the SEC Championship Game and a likely showdown with LSU, but Paul Finebaum believes in the Dawgs. With “SEC Nation” broadcasting from Athens, the question of whether Georgia can win the national championship was brought up.

“Call me crazy, but I still think Georgia can still win the national championship,” Finebaum said. “I have not understood so many people wanting to write them off. … What are they missing? This is a really good football team and Kirby Smart is doing a little bit of rope-a-dope.

“They’re barely winning some of these football games, but hey, it doesn’t make,” Finebaum trailed off as colleague Marcus Spears jumped in the conversation mentioning talking Dawgs fans off the ledge after the loss to South Carolina.

Finebaum and company are at Georgia for Saturday’s game with Texas A&M, which is set for kickoff at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.
