Paul Finebaum paid tribute to Lee Corso on Tuesday morning ahead of his final College GameDay show on Saturday.

On Aug. 22, ESPN released a special honoring Corso in which legends from around the game of college football thanked Corso for his contributions. From Andrew Luck to Kirk Herbstreit, many icons acknowledged the impact Corso had on college football.

Finebaum is now the latest to do so.

“He is truly one of the most significant and seminal people … in the history of college football,” Finebaum said on ‘Get Up’. “He’s Mount Rushmore.”

“He made college football fun. He revolutionized television, and the show that we’re talking about right there, College GameDay, he made it into what it is … It’s arguably the most successful football show in the history of the medium, and I would say it is because of Lee Corso.”

After Corso’s playing career, he became a longtime coach in college football. First starting as a quarterback coach and defensive back coach before becoming a head coach.

Coverage for Lee Corso’s final episode of College GameDay begins Saturday, August 30, at 9 a.m. ET.
