Paul Finebaum shreds Hugh Freeze over perception Auburn ‘is coming undone’

Paul Finebaum has been going after Colorado coach Deion Sanders, but after the Buffaloes win over the weekend, he gave Coach Prime praise. However, it wasn’t the same for Auburn coach Hugh Freeze, as the Tigers lost at home 24-14 to Arkansas.
Freeze hasn’t been able to decide on who he wants at the quarterback position after going back to Payton Thorne at the half. That was a move that Finebaum didn’t understand, as freshman Hank Brown was coming off a very good game the previous week against New Mexico.
“It came at an odd time,” Finebaum said during Monday’s appearance on “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning.”
“It felt forced by someone other than the coaching staff, and those are things that always set off red flares. I cant be more concerned about not only this season but the future of Auburn football right now… it’s this growing perception that this thing is coming undone.”
After the game, Freeze made comments blaming the quarterback play, saying the Tigers have to find a quarterback who won’t give the ball to the other team.
That got a response on social media from Bo Wallace who played quarterback for Freeze at Ole Miss. Wallace was a huge part of what helped Freeze become a big-time coach, but he eviscerated his former coach on X.
We’re approaching the point that he’s thrown so many QBs under the bus , that maybe no one wants to play for him?? His offense helped me tremendously put numbers up when I blew my shoulder out…. But why is it someone else’s fault every time there’s a loss ?? … but when there’s… https://t.co/ADJoR1BzYJ

With Wallace going off on Freeze, Finebaum says that is another sign that things could be getting ugly at Auburn.
“I realize where I’m about to go is unrelated to the Xs and Os,” Finebaum said. “When one of your former QBs goes on social media, calls you out, and says you have a history of throwing QBs under the bus… and then you post that you wouldn’t let your own son play for him, you have just been married to a social media post that you will never be able to outrun. Because Hugh Freeze primarily has made a career off of that Bo Wallace win in 2014 and then one the following year.”
It is going to be a very interesting week, and the schedule doesn’t get any easier as the Tigers host Oklahoma on Saturday.
