Not many fans paid attention to Alabama backup Paul Tyson, the great-grandson of Bear Bryant until Tyson, mishandled a snap on a kick Saturday against Auburn. When Tyson screwed up the snap, Saban replaced him.
Now the question leading into Saturday’s game against Georgia is whether or not Tyson will remain the Tide’s holder for kicks.
Alabam coach Nick Saban said this about Tyson via AL.com.
“From a holder standpoint, I’m going to listen to the kicker,” Saban said Thursday. “It’s who he’s most comfortable with, and who he has confidence in, in terms of getting the ball down. That decision will be made based on what our kicker thinks, what Will thinks.”
After Tyson fumbled the snap and was replaced by freshman Australian punter James Burnip, placekicker Will Reichard made all of his field-goal attempts and his extra points.
