The Kentucky Wildcats will be playing with heavy hearts this weekend against Vanderbilt, as OL coach John Schlarman passed away this week.
Schlarman had been battling a rare and aggressive form of bile duct cancer for 2 years, and last appeared on the Kentucky sidelines on Oct. 17, getting the game ball after a win over Tennessee.
We’ve seen OL Drake Jackson wear Schlarman’s old No. 65 jersey on Halloween. This week, Landon Young will get that honor:

Schlarman was beloved by players and his colleagues. He made a big impact on the Kentucky program, and he will be dearly missed.
We’ll see if Kentucky continues to honor Schlarman with linemen wearing his jersey number as the season goes on.
