The Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl is staying in Atlanta for the foreseeable future.
On Wednesday, Mercedes-Benz Stadium announced that it signed a deal to continue to host the Peach Bowl, as well as the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Games, through 2025. The agreement includes eight Peach Bowls and at least 10 kickoff games.
“Over our first four games, this partnership has been the definition of a win-win, and we are thrilled we will continue to call Mercedes-Benz Stadium home for the next eight years,” Peach Bowl, Inc. CEO and president Gary Stokan said in a press release. “[Atlanta Falcons owner] Arthur Blank and his team have delivered on their end by providing us a world-class venue with every imaginable luxury, and I think we have done our part, providing four straight sellouts and a long list of nationally ranked teams.”
The Peach Bowl will host three College Football Playoff semifinals over the next eight years. It will be a New Year’s Six bowl five times during that span.
“We are pleased to announce our continued partnership with the Peach Bowl,” AMB Sports & Entertainment president Rich McKay said in a press release. “We are thrilled that Mercedes-Benz Stadium will continue to be the backdrop of some of the biggest college match ups in the country.”
Mercedes-Benz Stadium opened in August 2017. The Peach Bowl was first hosted there last season, when UCF defeated Auburn on Jan. 1. The game was previously held at the Georgia Dome, which has since been demolished.
Of the 10 scheduled Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Games to be held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the next eight years, two feature Alabama and three feature Georgia.
“We are always looking to add blockbuster matchups to our Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game schedule,” Stokan said in a press release. “And having Mercedes-Benz Stadium — the newest and best stadium in the world — as our venue is a huge advantage in recruiting top-ranked teams to come to Atlanta to play.”
