Penn State fans not happy with GameDay guest picker; suggest different option

On Saturday morning, it was announced that Good Morning America anchor Lara Spencer would be the guest picker for ESPN’s College GameDay show at the Penn State-Michigan game.
That choice makes sense, as GMA is an ABC show, and ABC and ESPN are both owned by Disney. Spencer was also a diver at Penn State back in the 90s. However, fans weren’t happy with the selection.
The reason? World Cup champion Ali Krieger, a member of the 2019 U.S. Women’s National Team, was also on campus. As you can see below, Krieger got a lot of support for the guest picker role on Twitter:

Was really hoping I’d get to see @alikrieger as the @CollegeGameDay celebrity guest picker today

So Ali Krieger -Olympian and 2 time World Cup champion-is in town. But they went with LS. A sports network passed over the athlete. Someone needs to delay LS to Krieger can go on.

Of course, it’s possible Krieger was asked and decided to spend her Saturday morning elsewhere, but fans have made their choice clear.
