Penn State loses at home to Northwestern in stunning fashion

Penn State entered Saturday looking to snap a two-game losing streak as the Nittany Lions hosted Northwestern. However, a disappointing season added another chapter as the Nittany Lions lost 22-21 for the third consecutive loss.
The Nittany Lions were trailing 16-14 in the fourth quarter, when they went on a six-play, 91-yard drive that was capped off with Drew Allar scoring from one-yard out to take a 21-16 lead with 10:50 remaining.
However, the Wildcats went on a long drive of their own and Caleb Komolafe scored the game-winning touchdown from nine yards out.
On their final drive, the Nittany Lions were stopped on a fourth-and-short. It was another tough day for Allar, as he finished only 13-of-20 for 137 yards and one interception.
It hasn’t been an easy 2 weeks for coach James Franklin, and this is surely going to make things even worse. While the loss to Oregon was a double-overtime loss, the last two losses to UCLA and Northwestern have been to teams that they were favorites of at least 20 in both matchups.
