By now, we know that Tennessee legend and two-time Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning won’t be heading to the broadcast booth this fall.

ESPN really wanted him for the Monday Night Football booth, but Manning will apparently remain retired through the 2019 football season.

However, recently, Manning said he had a great conversation with the MNF folks, but doubled down on saying the timing isn’t right:

That last sentence, where Manning says maybe the time will never be right for him to head to the broadcast booth speaks volumes. He reportedly has interest in more of an ownership role, so we’ll see if something like that materializes.

Sadly, we won’t be seeing much of Manning during this NFL season (unless you count the numerous commercials he stars in).
