Peyton Manning won 1 of his 2 Super Bowl titles with the Denver Broncos, and he still has deep ties to the area.
With the Broncos likely to be sold after the death of former owner Pat Bowlen, potential ownership groups are being put together.
Per Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Manning is very interested in becoming a part owner of the Broncos:
Sources said former Broncos star quarterback Peyton Manning, who is very interested in a potential ownership piece in the franchise and a possible role in serving in a management position as well, has already had discussions with several of the groups expected to be favorites to land the team, and his strong ties to Denver, where his family has lived since his playing days, and universal respect throughout the football world, would be a boon to any potential ownership group aligned with him.
How much of an ownership stake Manning gets would remain to be seen, as this process is still in the early stages.
But, it seems the Broncos will have a new owner sooner, rather than later. And, Manning could cement his ties to the Denver area by buying a piece of the team for himself.
