Sports are just a game, but they often lift our spirits in times of need. That was certainly the case for Denver Broncos fan Linda Regis.
When she woke up from her double lung transplant surgery, the person she wanted to see most was the last quarterback to guide the Broncos to the Super Bowl title – Peyton Manning.
That dream finally came true this week. Manning visited her at the UCHealth Training Center and surprised her with two free tickets to the Broncos-Seahawks season opener this Sunday.
Manning walked up from behind as a surprise while Regis and her family were taking pictures. The Broncos released a video of Regis meeting her favorite player on the team’s Twitter account.
When double-lung transplant recipient Linda Regis woke up from surgery, she immediately asked for Peyton Manning.
While she didn’t see him then, @UCHealth made sure her wish came true.

Regis was diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in 2008. She battled through double lung transplant surgery and explained in the video that she is thankful for each additional day she has received since her procedure.
This weekend, she’ll be able to attend her first-ever Broncos game. Manning has been able to pull off some miracles in games before but helping Regis attend her first game has to be among the greatest.
