Nick Saban’s defenses at Alabama have always been outstanding. But Pro Football Focus thinks this year’s unit has the potential to be the best yet.
The website analyzed every aspect that makes the Tide front seven so dominant. It credited Reuben Foster as the “highest-graded linebacker in all of college football” with an 89.4 in 2016.
The website also credited Dalvin Tomlinson for excelling in a larger role this season and playing well against opposing rushing attacks. PFF also called Jonathan Allen “one of the very best defensive players in the nation this year,” for his dominance as a pass-rusher.
The website also broke down outside linebacker Tim Williams’ success as an edge pass-rusher. Williams graded at 80.2, which is 29th at his position. He’s recorded four tackles, one tackle for loss, three hits and nine hurries in 2016.
