Pharoh Cooper is coming home: Free agent receiver signs new NFL contract

Pharoh Cooper could probably use some familiarity and consistency in his life following two seasons in which the NFL receiver has played for three different teams.
After being selected by the Rams in the 2016 NFL Draft, Cooper failed to make it three years with the franchise as the club traded him away to the Arizona Cardinals. After finishing the 2018 season the Cardinals, Cooper was waived by the club only to be picked up by the Bengals. Cooper then started the 2019 season with the Bengals, only to be waived one game into the season and was then picked up by the Cardinals.
Few players have experienced that type of back and forth journey so early in their career but Cooper hopes to put that behind him after signing with the Carolina Panthers. The team announced Cooper’s signing on Friday.
Keep in mind, Carolina added offensive coordinator Joe Brady, formerly of the LSU Tigers, this offseason. If Brady works the same magic in Carolina he did for LSU and the Tigers’ receivers last year, Cooper could be one of the biggest surprises in the NFL next season.
A North Carolina native, Cooper will be returning home for his fifth season in the NFL.
Based on his reaction to the signing, Cooper is eager to get another opportunity to show what he can do so close to home.
