Football is insignificant in comparison with life and death.

That’s the lesson one Bulldogs fan wanted to impart when he shared an emotional story about his father in the Georgia vs. Tennessee game thread on Reddit before the two teams kicked off at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

The post detailed how the fan’s father passed away after finally getting on his feet following his release from prison. The Reddit user, who is a junior at Georgia, brought a cross his father sent him from prison to Saturday’s game so “I can take him to his last game, father and son.”

He wrote that he doesn’t “need a win today,” but the Bulldogs are trying to give him one away. No. 25 Georgia leads No. 11 Tennessee 10-0 early in the second quarter.
