The 2016 season didn’t go according to plan for Kentucky QB Drew Barker.
In Week 3, the redshirt sophomore injured his back against New Mexico State and hasn’t returned to the field since.
On Tuesday, Barker had surgery on his back and posted a photo on Instagram after the operation was complete:
Barker threw for 334 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions before he was injured on Sept. 17.
He’ll make his return to the field in 2017 with two years of eligibility remaining.
