Five-star 2018 prospect Xavier Thomas learned a valuable lesson recently, no matter the distance you are driving, it’s always a good idea to wear your seat belt.

The Clemson commit shared four photos showing his destroyed vehicle Monday following his unfortunate road accident. According to Thomas, a deer ran out on the road causing him to swerve and hit a ditch, flip his vehicle over and eventually hit a tree. Judging by the photos, Thomas was lucky to walk away from the scene with only bruises and scratches.

ESPN rates the 6-foot-3, 263-pound Thomas as the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect, while 247Sports Composite Ratings lists him as the nation’s No. 1 strong-side defensive end and the No. 2 overall prospect in the nation.

With his incredibly bright future ahead of him, Thomas appears to have walked away from the incident having learned a valuable lesson.
