Former Tennessee defensive defensive back Cameron Sutton, who has battled a hamstring injury, was placed on the reserve/injured list by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The third-round draft pick was injured in the final preseason game on Thursday against Carolina.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Sutton can be designated to return to the 53-man roster after eight weeks. Sutton previously missed three weeks of training camp. The Post-Gazette reported that the Steelers had hoped Sutton could win a cornerback job, but instead they will open against Cleveland with Artie Burns and Joe Haden as their starting corners.
