The Tuscaloosa Police Department has dropped charges against Alabama cornerback Cyrus Jones.

Jones was arrested early Wednesday on two counts of third degree domestic violence charges. However, those charges have been dropped.

Here’s the full release:

“After reviewing the charges filed against Cyrus Jones on April 28, 2015 for Criminal Mischief III (Domestic Violence) and for Harassment (Domestic Violence) the Tuscaloosa Police Department has requested the Office of City Attorney dismiss all charges against Mr. Jones. Although sufficient probable cause existed for both offenses, the dismissal is based on the fact that Mr. Jones in fact attempted to deescalate the situation by contacting the Tuscaloosa Police Department. After reviewing with the Office of City Attorney, they concur with the recommendation of dismissal of the charges against Mr. Jones.”
