Should Tennessee be starting redshirt freshman quarterback Jarrett Guarantano over junior Quinten Dormady?

Five games into the 2017 college football season, the Volunteers still haven’t figured out their quarterback situation.

It appeared for a while that Dormady would be “the guy,” but head coach Butch Jones replaced him with Guarantano in the second half of the Vols’ 41-0 loss to Georgia on Saturday.

Guarantano completed six of his seven pass attempts against the Bulldogs, but those passes only netted 16 yards. Dormady has a 55 percent completion rate this season with 925 yards through the air. He’s tossed six touchdown passes — but also six interceptions.

Knoxville radio host and former UT wide receiver Jayson Swain posted a poll on Twitter Tuesday afternoon asking if the Vols should start Guarantano against South Carolina on Oct. 14 (Tennessee is on a bye this week).

After a notable sample size of 2,738 votes rolled in as of this article’s publish time, the results were clear.

An astounding 90 percent of respondents, most of whom are likely Vols fans, want Guarantano on the field.
