After a brief stint as head coach of the Orlando AAF team, Steve Spurrier will be back on the sidelines in the coming months.

Spurrier clearly still has the coaching itch after leading Orlando to the AAF “title” this spring — if you don’t remember the league folded before the inaugural season came to an end but the Head Ball Coach’s squad had the best record in the league at the time and claimed the title of champions of the only AAF season.

Now Spurrier is scheduled to be back on the sidelines coaching against former Virginia Tech coaching legend Frank Beamer in the 2020 Polynesian Bowl. If you aren’t familiar with the game, it is an annual contest featuring 100 elite high school prospects, similar to San Antonio’s All-American Bowl or Orlando’s Under Armour All-American games.

The 2020 Polynesian Bowl is scheduled to be played Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. HST at Aloha Stadium on O’ahu, Hawai’i and will be televised live on CBS Sports Network.

“Hawai’i in January to coach in the Polynesian Bowl is about as good as it gets,” said Steve Spurrier. “I’m looking forward to being part of this amazing experience.”

The Polynesian Bowl may not have the history of some of the other All-American games but it does annually feature some of the nation’s best high school prospects. Here is a list of some of the players that are scheduled to compete in the 2020 Polynesian Bowl that are either committed to or considering attending SEC programs:
