The NFL issued $3.995 million to all 32 teams on Wednesday for performance-based pay for 2016. The extra money is intended to reward players signed to low-paying contracts who excelled on the field last fall. A pair of SEC rookies fit that bill perfectly.
Source: NFL has paid out its Performance-Based Pay for 2016, led by Falcons CB Brian Poole at $371,873.11. Dak Prescott 2nd at $353,544.57.

Poole was signed by Atlanta after going undrafted last spring, and played a key part in helping the Falcons make it to Super Bowl LI. The former Gator made 59 combined tackles, two fumble recoveries and an interception.
Dallas selected Prescott in the fourth-round, not knowing that the Mississippi State product would lead the Cowboys to one of their best seasons (13-3 regular-season record) in years following Tony Romo’s preseason injury. Prescott threw for 3,667 yards, 23 touchdowns and only four interceptions.
Both Poole and Prescott made $450,000 this season before the performance-based bonus.
Each NFL team paid out a total of $3.995M. Players on lesser money deals who play significant snaps are rewarded accordingly. https://t.co/JKzCf9WSvp

Former LSU DB Jalen Mills was another SEC alumnus to pick up a six-figure bonus. Mills, a seventh-round pick by Philadelphia, was listed among the players to pick up at least $300,000 by Jared Dubin of CBS Sports.
