Pop-Tarts Bowl shenanigans were in full swing right off the bat on Saturday afternoon in Orlando, where Georgia Tech and BYU were squaring off for bragging rights in what has become one of the favorite spectacles during bowl season.

And as the Yellow Jackets and Cougars were kicking things off in the matchup that was brought to wildly entertained viewers on ABC, it got serious quickly. And when we say serious, we mean not serious, because the Pop-Tarts Bowl is meant to be piles of fun, even if the 2 teams are trying to win and end their seasons on a high note.

One of the slew of Pop-Tarts Bowl mascots, Frosted Cherry, was up to no good near the start of the game, and that’s what we mean by things getting serious quickly. The mascot might wear that permanent smile and look so good you would want to eat it, but don’t kid yourself. And Frosted Cherry showed it can be a little naughty by charging a reporter and stealing her phone, then running away to pretend like she was never going to get it back.

Well, it is all fun and games, ultimately, so the reporter ran after Frosted Cherry and did get her phone back, because the Pop-Tarts Bowl wouldn’t want to get the wrong impression, right?

Here is the hilarious video of that phone steal and chase in a game that, oh by the way, BYU rallied in the 4th quarter to win, 25-21:
