Trendon Watford will look for a new team to continue his NBA career as the Portland Trail Blazers waived him, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The move allows him to negotiate a contract with another team for the 2023-24 season.

Watford has been a productive player off the bench the last 2 season in Portland, as he’s averaged at least 7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.5 steals and 18.0 minutes per game both seasons.

Watford went undrafted out of LSU, and has started 22 of his 110 NBA appearances.

At LSU, Watford improved in his second season with the Tigers in 2020-21, and averaged 16.3 points a game and 7.4 rebounds to go with 2.9 assists per game. In 17 SEC games, he averaged 15.9 points and 7.8 rebounds while he averaged 34.6 minutes per game.
