LSU has been in a bit of a recruiting crisis since defensive coordinator John Chavis’ abrupt departure to Texas A&M and the Tigers are doing everything in their power to ensure no other players on that side of the football decommit.
Several key commits at the cornerback position have reaffirmed their decision in recent days despite Chavis’ exit exit including five-star Kevin Toliver II and three-star Ugo Amadi, but the Tigers aren’t quite as confident in four-star ballhawk Xavier Lewis, a U.S. Army All-American.

Lewis is planning an official visit to Texas in January but a date has not been set. Fellow LSU commit Nick Brossette, a four-star running back from Baton Rouge, La., will visit Austin on Jan. 16.
Per @bartonsimmons 4* LSU DB Commit Xavier Lewis says he wants to take an OV to Texas. Has a great relationship w/ Coach Vaughn.

The Longhorns are expected to ramp up their recruitment of Lewis once the dead period ends on Jan. 15.
