Junior college transfer James Rojas will have to wait a little bit longer to make his debut with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Rojas underwent surgery to repair his right knee Thursday morning after he tore his ACL according to BamaOnLine. He will miss the entire 2019-20 season.

“We are disappointed to lose James (Rojas) for the season,” Alabama head coach Nate Oats said in a press release. “I feel terrible for him and his family because he was excited to be on campus and contribute to our team. We are fortunate to have an outstanding medical team at the University of Alabama that will be alongside him every step of the way during the rehab process and we are looking forward to having him for two seasons beginning in the 2020-21 season.”

The 6-foot-8 forward just transferred to Alabama last month from Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College, where he became a National Association of Basketball Coaches first-team All-American.

Last season, Rojas led his team in scoring with 19.0 points per game. He also averaged 6.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals per contest.
