Projecting the top 25: Major changes coming after big day of ranked matchups

Saturday saw a great slate of ranked matchups, and as such, we’re likely to see plenty of changes in Sunday’s AP Top 25.

Most notably, two of the Big Ten teams ranked in the top ten went down: Ohio State and Penn State.

Here’s how we project Sunday’s Top 25 (Note: The updated CFP rankings will be released on Tuesday and will likely differ to some degree):

1 – Alabama def. LSU, 24-10
2 – Georgia def. South Carolina, 24-10
3 – Wisconsin def. Indiana, 45-17
4 – Notre Dame def. Wake Forest, 48-37
5 – Clemson def. NC State, 38-31
6 – Oklahoma def. Oklahoma State, 62-52
7 – Miami def. Virginia Tech 28-10
8 – TCU def. Texas, 24-7
9 – Washington def. Oregon 38-3
10 – Ohio State lost to Iowa, 55-24
11 – UCF def. SMU, 31-24
12 – Michigan State def. Penn State, 27-24
13 – Auburn def. Texas A&M, 42-27
14 – Penn State lost to Michigan State, 27-24
15 – USC def. Arizona 49-35
16 – Oklahoma State lost to Oklahoma, 62-52
17 – Virginia Tech lost to Miami 28-10
18 – Washington State def. Stanford, 24-21
19 – Miss. State def. UMass, 34-23
20 – Memphis def. Tulsa, 41-14
21 – Arizona lost to USC 49-35
22 – West Virginia def. Iowa State, 20-16
23 – Stanford lost to Washington State, 24-21
24 – LSU lost to Alabama, 24-10
25 – Iowa State lost to West Virginia, 20-16
