During his weekly radio show on Thursday, Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn dropped a proverbial bomb on the Plains – senior Jeremy Johnson will be starting at quarterback this weekend against Alabama A&M.
“I know our team is excited for him,” Malzahn said. “He’s excited. I’m excited for him. He’ll be ready to go.
“I know he’s had a good week of practice. I really think he’ll play well.”

Former starter Jeremy Johnson will get the call on Saturday against Alabama A&M. Not only does this mark the final home game of the season, but it will be Johnson’s last game at Auburn — as he’s slated to graduate this year.
White had been hindered incredibly by a shoulder injury. In last week’s loss to Georgia, it was clearly evident he was unable to play.
Interestingly, second-string quarterback John Franklin III was leapfrogged by the third-string option.
Johnson has only played in one game this year — the season opener versus Clemson. He went 4-of-6 for 38 yards and one interception.
