Vanderbilt has played like many expected in Saturday’s game at No. 13 Georgia. The Commodores find themselves trailing 27-7 at halftime as the Bulldogs offense continues to roll. Todd Gurley has 73 yards on 13 carries and two first quarter touchdowns.
Hutson Mason looks improved with 114 yards and two touchdowns on 10-of-13 passing. Jeb Blazevich and Chris Conley have provided solid options for the senior quarterback. Blazevich had 86 yards on three catches. Conley has 49 yards and two touchdowns on a pair of catches.
Vanderbilt’s performance has been symbolic of its season, with little to boast outside a strong performance from tailback Ralph Webb. Webb has 67 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Otherwise, its been “same old Vandy” on offense, minus the turnovers. The expectations weren’t high entering Saturday’s game and Vanderbilt has done little to exceed them. It is unlikely that things will change in the second half.
