Quinn Ewers injury update: Texas QB leaves Alabama game with shoulder injury
By Kevin Duffey
Published:
Quinn Ewers was off to a hot start against Alabama’s top-ranked defense; however, the Texas quarterback was injured near the end of the first quarter.
Ewers was trying to throw the ball away in the back of the end zone due to Alabama’s pass rush, but Tide pass rusher Dallas Turner was all over Ewers when he let the ball go. Ewers went down hard on his left shoulder with Turner on top of him.
Turner was also flagged for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for driving the quarterback into the ground.

Ewers walked off the field into the locker room with a towel over his head for further evaluation. The Longhorns quarterback was moving the ball on the first 2 drives of the game before the injury.
Alabama and Texas are tied at 10-10 early in the second quarter.
Steve Sarkisian was asked if Ewers will play in the second half, and his response, “I don’t know.”
We’ll update Ewers’ injury when new information is released.
