Quinn Ewers was not at his best in the first half of the Cotton Bowl against Ohio State. However, the star quarterback for Texas is starting to heat up, and he rescued the Longhorns on a wild 3rd down.

With the Buckeye pass rush closing in, it looked like Ewers may be sacked by Jack Sawyer for a pivotal stop by Ohio State. Instead, Ewers was able to get off a wild flip just before his knee touched on a play that would keep the drive alive.

It was so close to being a sack that the play would be reviewed. Replay upheld the call on the field with Ewers just barely getting the ball out before his knee touched.

Ewers would cap the drive with another big play on 3rd down. This time, it was Jaydon Blue sneaking out of the backfield unaccounted for on a 3rd-and-7 play that allowed Ewers to hit him with a clean pass for the touchdown.

The score is the 2nd passing connection from Ewers to Blue in the Cotton Bowl and ties the game up at 14-all. After Ohio State appeared to be gaining momentum on multiple occasions, the key drive by Quinn Ewers has things all knotted up and momentum creeping up in favor of the Longhorns.
