Rams reportedly close to locking up Todd Gurley with massive contract extension
What did Todd Gurley get in exchange for his All-Pro performance in 2017? The Rams are expected to hand the former Georgia standout $45 million in guaranteed money for his amazing efforts on the field.
Following his best professional year to date, both individually and as a crucial member of a Rams team that earned their first playoff berth since moving to Los Angeles, Gurley won’t have to worry about his contract status for the foreseeable future. According to ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter, Gurley and the Rams are close on a four-year extension worth $45 million guaranteed.
Gurley was the 10th overall selection in the 2015 NFL Draft following his three-year career in Athens. While his college career never amounted to what it could have been due to injury and suspension, Gurley has realized all the promise he showed in Athens at the NFL level in his three years in the league.
Here’s Schefter’s report on the subject:
Rams and RB Todd Gurley finalizing agreement on a 4-year extension worth $60 million that includes $45 million guaranteed that ties him to LA for the next six seasons, source tells ESPN. Finally a deal that resets the RB market.
