Coming off a season in which he appeared in 16 games for the Rams, the Los Angeles-based NFL franchise is reportedly planning to cut ties with Blake Countess.
This news was first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. According to Rapoport, Countess refused to take a pay cut of $2 million this offseason.
Countess has appeared in 37 games for the Rams over the previous three seasons, making 44 tackles and two interceptions during that time. The former Auburn defensive back was selected in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Countess came to Auburn as a transfer from Michigan.
The Rams selected two safeties in the 2019 NFL Draft, Taylor Rapp and Nick Scott, which may have led to the decision to release Countess.
