Tuesday’s game between No. 19 Alabama and LSU was a highly anticipated one. These are 2 teams atop the SEC standings, with Alabama entering with a perfect 6-0 record in league play.

However, the game was over before it had a chance to get going, thanks to Alabama’s red-hot 3-point shooting. Seven of Alabama’s first 8 made shots were from long range, and the Tide held a 23-4 lead before the limited-capacity crowd in Baton Rouge could even sit down.

At halftime, the lead was 60-32 in favor of the Tide. By the time the dust settled on the game, the Tide had earned a 105-75 victory. And, they went 23-for-43 from 3-point land.

Those 23 long-range makes set an SEC record for most 3-pointers in a single game. John Petty Jr. led the way once again, going 8-for-10 from long range to finish with a game-high 24 points.

But, when the subs came in late in the second half, coach Nate Oats said there was something left to be desired:

The Tide are now 7-0 in SEC play. Can they keep rolling? Can LSU recover from this 30-point loss (that should have been much worse)? We’ll find out moving forward! But, for now, Alabama has a 3-point record it can hang its hat on.
