RB Alvin Kamara’s big day sets Tennessee all-purpose record

Tennessee traveled to College Station today to take on No. 8 Texas A&M without star RB Jalen Hurd.

However, redshirt junior Alvin Kamara filled in admirably for the injured starter, amassing 312 all-purpose yards in the 45-38 double-overtime loss to the Aggies.

Those 312 yards set a Tennessee record, besting Chuck Webb’s 294 yards against Ole Miss in 1989:

That wasn’t the only outstanding stat from Kamara’s big day. He also became the first player in 20 years to amass 150 receiving yards and 125 yards on the ground:

Kamara led the Vols with 127 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. He also caught eight passes for 161 yards and another score.

The rest of his 312 total yards came on 16 kick-return yards and eight punt-return yards.
