Rece Davis and Stanford Steve broke down the upcoming LSU-Mississippi State game on the College GameDay Podcast.
Davis thinks LSU will win the game by double-digits and cover the 9.5 point spread.
“This one to me is really tempting. I feel as if LSU will be able to cover that 9.5. Mississippi State has been a lot more balanced running the ball, but I don’t believe they’ll be able to do that against this LSU defense,” Davis said. “Saw some adjustments against Grambling State in how Harold Perkins was used. I hate go against a home dog, but I’m gonna take LSU here and say that they’re gonna be able to win it by ten.”
Stanford Steve disagrees with Davis and decided to take the home underdog in Mississippi State. Stanford Steve thinks Garrett Nussmeier could make an appearance if Jayden Daniels struggles.
“What I will say is that Garrett Nussmeier comes to the rescue for LSU. I believe we see him in this game,” he said. “I’m gonna take the home dog, but I think we’re gonna see Mr. Nussmeier under center in the second half. I think Daniels is gonna struggle. This is one of those circumstances where Brian Kelly has a short fuse, those cowbells will be ringing. I believe we will see Nussmeier in the second half.”
The game is set for a Noon ET kickoff on ESPN.
