King enjoyed a remarkable 2018 season, throwing for 2,982 yards and 36 touchdowns versus just 6 interceptions while taking 11 carries for 674 yards and 14 more touchdowns. He played the first 4 games of the 2019 season, going 58-for-110 for 6 touchdowns through the air and adding 312 yards and 6 more touchdowns on 55 carries.
Against Tulane on Sep. 19, he broke former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow’s record for most consecutive games with a rushing touchdown with 15.
King’s pending transfer has opened up speculation as to where he will play in 2020. There is a chance that he is reunited with Kendal Briles, the new offensive coordinator at Arkansas under head coach Sam Pittman who served as associate head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Houston in 2018.
