South Carolina running back A.J. Turner has been taking reps with the first team offense through the team’s first week of practice.

This comes as a surprise considering many expected David Williams to be the team’s starting running back. However, Williams is currently listed as fourth on the depth chart.
While it could be a motivational tactic for both players or just a temporary change, it definitely poses a threat to Williams’ chances of taking over as the team’s starter in its opener against Vanderbilt on Sept. 1.
Turner redshirted during his first season at South Carolina. Williams rushed for 299 yards on 86 attempts and caught 11 passes for 93 yards in 2015.
