Alabama legacy, No. 1 prospect from Tennessee, Reggie Grimes II ruled eligible for senior season

Good news out of the middle Tennessee area as elite 2020 prospect Reggie Grimes II has been ruled eligible to play for his senior season by the TSSAA.
Grimes is the son of former Alabama defender Reggie Grimes and is currently rated as the No. 1 overall prospect from the state of Tennessee in the 2020 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. If you were unaware, Grimes eligibility was in question after he transferred from Mount Juliet High School to Ravenwood High School this summer. His father also landed the defensive coordinator position at Ravenwood this summer.
Following the Grimes family’s move, the TSSAA ruled Reggie Grimes II ineligible for a period but after that decision was challenged, the TSSAA ruled in favor of the Grimes family this weekend, according to the Williamson Herald.
Entering his final season of college football, the No. 1 prospect from the Volunteer State has narrowed his college options down to Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Florida State. The rising senior racked up 48 tackles, 11 quarterback hurries and a sack last season for Mount Juliet High School. His senior season begins next week as Ravenwood takes on Centennial High School.
