Trade rumors are swirling around former Florida cornerback C.J. Henderson. After spending his first NFL season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, he could be on a new team already in 2021.

One potential landing spot could be the New Orleans Saints, as Jeff Duncan of The Times-Picayune reported on Monday that the team is “exploring available options in the trade market for a cornerback,” including Henderson. It’s a move that could potentially give a boost to the Saints’ secondary.

Henderson was taken by the Jags with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. However, he was limited to 8 games last season due to a groin injury. He finished the year with 36 tackles, 6 pass deflections and 1 interception.

But Jacksonville has made Henderson available via trade and may even be shopping him, according to a recent report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. So the 22-year-old Henderson could potentially already be on the move this early in his pro career.

New Orleans has Marshon Lattimore in its secondary, but it could use another strong cornerback to pair with him. And Henderson would certainly fit the bill, especially if he keeps improving and reaches his potential.

Considering Henderson is a young recent first-round pick, it will be interesting to see how much the Jaguars could potentially get back for him in a trade. Maybe that will happen soon if the Saints end up presenting them with an enticing offer.
