Update: In addition to Najee Harris and Brian Robinson, receiver DeVonta Smith and linebacker Terrell Lewis are also suspended for first half, per BamaInsider.
Alabama’s top two running backs will be suspended for the first half of the Duke game, according to a report by AL.com’s Joseph Goodman.
Najee Harris and Brian Robinson will sit the first half of Alabama’s opener against the Blue Devils for missing a team function, per the report.
Due to an injury to top freshman Trey Sanders, Alabama’s running back depth is hurting entering the opener. Add in the suspensions of Harris and Robinson, it’ll be even thinner to start in the first half.
Now, redshirt freshman Jerome Ford, true freshman Keilan Robinson and redshirt sophomore Chadarius Townsend will take center stage in the first half.
Harris has rushed for 1,153 yards and seven touchdowns, while Robinson has rushed for 437 yards and four touchdowns. Both Harris and Robinson have had strong fall camps.
Alabama RBs Najee Harris and Brian Robinson will be suspended for the first half of the season opener against Duke for missing a team function, according to a source.
