Alabama has lined up its first cupcake of the 2022 season.
According to college football insider Brett McMurphy, the Crimson Tide will host Utah State in 2022. Alabama will reportedly pay the Aggies $1.91 million for the game.
That figure would be the third-highest rate ever paid to a non-conference opponent in college football history. Alabama does not have another 2022 non-conference game on its future schedule at this time.
Sources: Alabama adds 2022 home game w/Utah State. Bama will pay Aggies $1.91 million, 3rd highest amount ever for a visiting team. Florida paid Colorado State $2M (as part of McElwain buyout) for 2018 game & Auburn paid Tulane $1.937M for 2019 game

The Crimson Tide have played Utah State twice, once in 2004 and again in 2005. Alabama won both games, however, the second contest was later vacated.
UPDATE: Alabama has since confirmed the news.
