There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes at big-time college football programs, and Alabama is no exception.

Therefore, Monday’s report that Alabama director of football recruiting Leah Knight is stepping down is a big deal for Nick Saban’s staff.

Knight is leaving to move closer to Colorado, where her fiance lives, but the Crimson Tide are moving quickly to land a replacement, according to FootballScoop.com:

Source tells FootballScoop UCLA recruiting coordinator Victoria Ross (who previously attended and interned at Alabama) is returning to Alabama as recruiting operations coordinator. Source adds that Leah Knight who currently serves as director of recruiting, is stepping down to move closer to her fiance in Colorado.

As mentioned in the report, Ross is familiar with the Crimson Tide, having attended Alabama and served as an intern there.

However, Knight is still a big loss, and her absence will be felt as the 2019 recruiting cycle wears on.
