Both coaching staffs will reportedly be down an assistant coach in Saturday’s Alabama-Missouri game.
Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports reports, per sources, that Alabama safeties coach Charles Kelly and Missouri defensive backs coach Charlie Harbison will miss the game. The reason behind their absences is not detailed in the report.
Heading into Week 1 of the SEC season, most questions about game absences have focused on players.
Mizzou head coach Eliah Drinkwitz has been open about Tigers players who are out due to COVID-19 (positive test or contact tracing quarantine), opt-out or injury.
Nick Saban discussed roster availability on his Thursday radio show.
“We haven’t had a lot of positive tests lately, knock on wood,” Saban said. “We don’t have a lot of guys out for the game.”
Alabama at Mizzou is set for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff on ESPN.
Sources: Two coaches will not be at Missouri’s game with Alabama today. Both Alabama safeties coach Charles Kelly and Missouri defensive backs coach Charlie Harbison will miss the game, sources told @YahooSports.
