Spring football hasn’t even started yet in Tuscaloosa but the team is already down a projected starter on the offensive line.

Starting right tackle Matt Womack will miss all of spring after breaking a bone in his foot, reports Charlie Potter of Bama Online/247Sports. The injury was believed to have occurred during an offseason workout.

The rising redshirt junior is coming off a strong 2017 season anchoring the right side of the line for the Tide. He was even named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week following his performance against Fresno State on Sept. 9. The 2017 season was his first as a starter on Alabama’s offensive line.

Rising sophomore Jedrick Wills Jr. and redshirt sophomore Scott Lashley were listed as Womack’s backups to conclude the 2017 season.
