Alabama has finally named a starting quarterback, according to AL.com.

Redshirt freshman Blake Barnett will begin the game under center when the Crimson Tide take on USC tonight at 7 p.m. Central time.

Barnett beat out freshman Jalen Hurts and redshirt junior Cooper Bateman for the starting job.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound quarterback will be the youngest quarterback to start for Alabama during the Nick Saban era.

Barnett has been impressive in practice this past week, which likely led to him earning the starting job over the more experienced Bateman.

The No. 1 Tide will take on the No. 20 Trojans at 7 p.m. Central time tonight at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on ABC.
